I'm a university student who loves preparing healthy vegan dishes. I'm always looking for ways to become more healthy, environmentally-aware and compassionate. |
I haven’t been keeping up with the Food Network and it’s great to see that they featured vegan chef Chloe Coscarelli on Cupcake Wars. I don’t think they even have a vegetarian show so this is exciting news! Her recipes look delicious, and there are so many interesting cupcakes.

Kale for lunch! Stir-fred Kale!
Fry some diced garlic in vegetable oil until brown. Add soy sauce and some nutritional yeast. then add the Kale and cook until done!
We all made the decision to go vegan sometime ago and we probably had good reasons, because all us vegans are the greatest best. However, when someone questions your reasons, it can be hard to remember exactly why! Especially if someone is trying to “get your goat” (lolz) or be dismissive. Here…

One of my favourite scenes from the movie C.R.A.Z.Y., directed by Jean-Marc Vallée.
You never know who’s watching!
Remember when we were all OMG GOOD HOUSEKEEPING IS MAKING A VEGAN COOKBOOK WHAT?! and you were all STFU and we were all YOU STFU and then we hugged and jumped up and down and hugged some more? Well, that shit is available for pre-order! This is crazy exciting, let’s buy four copies each and show those whackadoo old tricks what’s for!
So cool!
Some electronics, such as small kitchen appliances and cell phone chargers, stay plugged in for much longer than necessary. While it may be easy to only plug in these appliances when they’re in use, some outlets can be hard to reach or there may be too many plugs for an entertainment system or at a desk. I use a power bar for my laptop, desk lamp and stereo system - it’s so convenient and no more wasted energy!
Quinoa Kitchari is easy to prepare, healthy and delicious. It’s perfect as a comfort food when it starts to get cold! Red lentils and quinoa are cooked along with vegetables - you can use whatever you have on hand. I love this dish with spinach, parsley, red pepper flakes, black sesame seeds and tamari.

On Healing with the Masters last week, Noah St-John went against traditional self-help books and talked about how the secret to achieving success is allowing yourself to achieve success. A similar idea has always been at the back of my mind… I’m very familiar with self-sabotage in terms of my studying and other goals. It makes me wonder whether I truly want to achieve success and if perhaps I don’t think I deserve success. This call has certainly put things in perspective - I can think of people in my life who are either successful or unsuccessful in certain aspects of their life and how those who have achieved success have done so by being motivated and wanting success.
My concern is: how do I stop self-sabotage and truly allow myself to become successful? During the call, Noah outlines the steps to letting success come into your life but now I’ve forgotten them…
Unfortunately the free call with Noah has expired but you can purchase the full series of calls here. I might check out Noah’s book The Secret Code of Success. He is also selling a special package available here.
